Debit/Credit Payments

Please note that we do not accept credit or debit card payments for transactions under $10. Checks or cash will be accepted for transactions that are less than $10. 

Convenience Fee

Please note that a non-refundable 2.95% convenience fee will be added to any debit and credit card payments.

Returned Check Fee

Customers who issue a check that is returned unpaid by their financial institution (due to insufficient funds, closed accounts, or other reasons) will be subject to a returned check fee of $35 to cover administrative and processing costs.

Chargeback Recovery Fee

Customers who initiate a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may be subject to a chargeback recovery fee of $50 to cover administrative and processing costs. This will be charged to your account and payment must be made prior to additional registrations or rentals.

Rental Cancellation Fee

There is a $15 rental cancellation fee to cover administrative costs. 

Refunds

Hopewell Recreation and Parks must receive refund requests in writing seven days in advance, which will be given at the Director’s discretion per departmental policy. All refunds will be given in the form of account credit. Debit and credit card convenience fees are nonrefundable. Summer Camps are not eligible for refunds due to the high demand and limited space. 

Memberships

Memberships are sold monthly (30 consecutive days) or annually (365 consecutive days), regardless of building closures, holidays, or weekends.

Indemnity Statement and Liability Waiver

I hereby acknowledge and agree that there is the potential for risk of injury by my/my child’s participation in this event, and I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risk associated therewith. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the City of Hopewell, its officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims of liability for injury to person or property, foreseeable and unforeseeable, which I/my minor child may sustain as a result of, or in any way connected with, my/my minor child’s use of any City of Hopewell facility, or participation in any activity, program conducted, hosted, or sponsored by the City of Hopewell. If any provision of this application is held void or of no effect by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder shall be effective to the extent permitted under Virginia law.

Photos and Video: The City of Hopewell reserves the right to use any photo or video taken of any person participating in a City-sponsored program or event for future publication.
